Purses

I will admit, I have an obsession with sewing purses and bags. These are three of my most recent creations. The purple paisley print one took much longer due to the fact that the bias ends had to be hand sewn. I have always wanted a paisley purse. This purse was also my first time sewing a zipper! How exciting! The black/pink bag is a pattern I found at http://www.fatquartershop.com/ and it is a Tanya Whalen pattern called "Practical Bag" and it really is practical. No pockets, just a big empty hole, perfect for a trip to the beach or an outing where you need to bring a few extra things along. I also am quite proud of my fabric choices for this bag. The black is perfect for me and the pink inside is bright bright pink with light pink outlines of dragonfly's on it. The red one is the one I am currently using daily. I loved the pattern, but the usefulness of the purse isn't working out so well for me. It wasn't my favorite work, but I don't want it to go to waste, so I will use it now and then. I am still working on my quilt. I will have pictures once the move to our new house is complete. All that is left to do on it is the hand quilting, which will take quite some time. My next project, hmm....I haven't quite decided. I have been looking into patters for shirts so I can begin working with knits and branch outside my purse box. Right now, my focus is on packing my house, so the sewing machine is being tucked away! I am also hoping to try something fun like reupholstering a chair. All these ideas!

I bought ferns...

I never thought I would. Where I grew up, these things grow crazy wild
and I could hardly fathom $10 a piece. But, what a difference it
makes. I love this porch, this swing, and all I've planted and created
in this yard. I thought I would miss the house the most after moving-
but no, I'll miss this porch and yard.

After I get real Internet access I'll post how wild my other plants
have taken off :)
